Smeet Home en Harare, Singapur

When we arrived at this hostel, we thought the place was shut down. There was no staff to greet us, but thankfully there was another guest who searched around to find someone to show us to our room. Very old facilities and the room wasn't clean enough to make up for that. We chose this place because it had one of the only available ensuite options and was 2 blocks from the metro, but it wasn't worth it just to have our own shower.They seem like a nice family,but not into running an int'l host Annika, from USA ~ 3rd Feb 2012

A cheap hostels with clean rooms in a good location. Mustafa center is just near by, metro is 5-10min walk away. You can even walk to downtown if you want to. Nice and helpfull staff. Riku, from Finland ~ 6th Feb 2012

Location was convenient but hostel very dodgy. It doesn't even have a sign indicating that it's a hostel, but instead the sign says the house is a "customizing gifts" business. The neighbours didn't even know this was a guesthouse! Overbooked. Someone slept on the floor of the dorm. Ventilation was very bad in the dorm and it trapped in a very damp and unpleasant smell. The place was a backpacker's haven. It has speck clean rooms and bathrooms and shower rooms. It was a few minutes walk to the Farrer Park MRT. Finding it was a breeze. The owner and his wife were really accommodating. They tended to our requests every now and then. They even gave us directions to get around Singapore. We had our own lockers for our valuables. Its a very good hostels in Singapore, we tried an other hostel only one night and thats horrible. We was happy for find this, the owner told many intresting place in Singapore, the service was good, other guests was friendly. The price is correct. Very friendly staff, the room had great a/c, was nice and quiet and the sheets were very clean. Very basic, but great location near MRT and nice bars (walk back a bit past the MRT). The breakfast is simple but you can eat as much as you like. A good value and very friendly place to stay. James, from England ~ 26th Aug 2011
