Hostel is quite good. Negative, the bathroom a bit dirty and the beds are not very good. They give you a sample of beer, but only if you eat dinner. Positive, safety, silence and breakfast included. pedro, from Spain ~ 25th Aug 2011

The Bauhaus was pretty great, helpful and friendly staff, good location (maybe a bit far from the train station) and the bed drapes was nothing less than awesome. There seems to be a decent number of optional activities associated with the hostel as well and the in house pub is also a plus. This is the best hostel for my whole trip! had a good experience in Paris st christopher but here is even better, and much cheaper as well. good shower, bit of privacy,lockers under the bed, very coool bar hereand they do happy hours and sell really cheap drinks. vodka red bull is only 4,50 but i didnt give a go cos i dont wanna get insomnia :( shame on me! very nice place, full of people ready to have fun. the staff was amazing nice energy. a little to far from city center and train station. very clean, lots of showers and WC. really safe with big spacious lokers under the beds. curtains on bed and self lamps were a nice detail. great layout of beds in dorms. a must in bruges!! I really enjoyed my stay. The 6 bed female dorm was spacious with comfy beds, clean bedding and even a hairdryer. The shower was good and hot and the toilets fine. The free breakfast was excellent. I ate at the restaurant for the 3 nights of my stay. The food was good and reasonably priced with 10% discount and free wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful. The free walking tour was a good intro to the city. Tea/Coffee making facilities and an improved chill out area would bump the score to 100%! brenda, from England ~ 2nd Mar 2012

What makes a hostel great for me is not even it´s facilities, but definitely if you are treated well and feel good. For the money this hostel was great, big room, nice breakfest and very good people (other travelers). But the staff was always in a bad mood, only one treated me nicely, while others were just regular or disrespectful.
