very dirty and very loud, every single mattress has a hole in it from the many people having slept in them, with every movement in the bed you wake someone up because they're squeaking with every single movement you make in you bed, also the blankets were very dirty (as if never washed), Staff is not caring about their guests in the morning, with lots of noise they are doing their work, when everybody is sleeping. Speaking with several guests of the hostel, everybody was disappointed to get such Karen, from Germany ~ 4th Nov 2009

Security is a bit of a joke here. No lockers, luggage room is unlocked w/ door open, rooms are usually unlocked. Sleep can be a challenge since the door are very this and glass paneled. Bring earplugs. You have to go outside to get to the bathrooms/showers which is a bit rough on cold mornings. I will say that I booked the wrong nights and the staff was very helpful in fixing that for no extra charge. Also people were friendly and the bar was fun (although very expensive). The hostel is right behind a bar, which depends on the same proprietors. The noise is unbearable. I strongly disrecommend it! José Luis, from Spain ~ 5th Oct 2009

you better be a very sound sleeper if you want to get some rest. The bunks have no stablity, any movement from your bunkmate will likely wake you. extremely noisy environment, which comes with being in Paris. people who stay there can be very nice and cool. if you have some money, this is not the ideal sleeping arrangement. The hostel had character that's for sure but could definetly use a good scrub down the showers in particular were pretty gross. The location was pretty good right beside a metro stop and approx a 20 min walk to teh Eiffel tower. There were no lockers available, there was a safety deposit box at the front desk if you really wanted. The beds were also terrible and there was only one key for the door so you and your room mates had to share. Andrea, from Canada ~ 28th Sep 2009

It is a hostel, so you don't have a luxuries of a hotel, but you meet a ton of people, as they always seem to be slap full of travelers. Kind of tough to get to sleep with people always hanging out in the courtyard. But, eventually you do, or put in earplugs. Has a bar, and internet in the common room. Met some good friends there! I loved this place: a true hostel with friendly staff and travellers. Don't expect shiny mod-cons, but do expect a great welcome and a lovely atmosphere! Rowan, from England ~ 12th Sep 2009

Awesome people, great staff. The bathrooms were not the cleanest but overall was a fun place to stay. Jeffrey, from USA ~ 11th Aug 2009

It was awful, dirty everywhere, smelly room with no linen provided, there was only cold water and pigeon droppings everywhere. But the staff was very friendly and they didn't seem to be very concerned about the cleanliness. It was axpensive as well, for this price it's worth adding 2-3 euros per person and go to a real hotel. Jakub, from Poland ~ 28th Jul 2009
