I would certainly recommend this place - the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Also, it's a great downtown location. Of course with it being in central Cairo it was a little noisy. Neil, UK Neil, from England ~ 26th Oct 2009

The staff is really good all of them are very friendly and helpful I enjoyed a lot the stay in this hostel because of that. Another great advantage is that they have good tours with reasonable prices and the location is pretty good. Great place to stay considering the price you pay. Mauricio, from Bolivia ~ 23rd Jul 2009

Friendly staff made the stay wonderful and the price paid for the rooms make it a great value. I will definitely stay at Australian Hostel my next trip to Cairo. The only negative point was the transportation to Giza that I booked through the hostel. For the price I paid I was hoping for a hassle-free experience but the driver tried really hard to steer me towards overpriced camel rides and papyrus factories, where I am sure he would have received further commission. I stayed there twice, and was picked up from the airport the first time. I was told this was a free service as I was staying 3 nights, but on arrival at the hostel, was told that it would cost 50 EP. Rooms are a good size, as are the beds. Good location. kate, from New Zealand ~ 5th Jul 2009

Great place to stay. I would not choose to stay anywhere else in Cairo when I go back. The guys on the front desk remembered me by name after 3 weeks away and I only stayed for one night before...AWESOME hospitality... Mark, from South Africa ~ 29th Jun 2009

We stayed there 3 nights and I love it! The place is clean. The staff are nice, and no one tried to sell packages. (unlike another other hostel in Cairo) One draw back is that the hot water is limited. Hsiu-Chin, from Taiwan ~ 5th May 2009

The best staff ever, very clean, a lot of fun, great locataion, you can find tours organized by hostel to all places you want to visit and do not miss them (2 or 3 days in desert higly recommended)... Would recomment this place to anyone, me personally looking forward to coming back to Cairo and stay at this place... This was a perfect hostel to stay at in Cairo. We stayed one night and then went back after our trip to Aswan! The staff are really friendly and make you feel safe and at home. If you plan to do any trips talk to them about it first because they are so helpful and do their best to help you not get ripped off! Make sure you have a map with you as it can be hard to find if you don't know where you are going. I would recommend this hostel to anyone planning to stay in Cairo. Staff were excellent. As Westerners on our first trip to Cairo we felt quite uncormfortable with the attention we received (e.g. my wife was constantly stared at in the street and we were constantly harrassed by buy junk, tours or taxi rides). The staff at the hostel spoke excellent English and were able to give us a good understanding of how things work in Egypt and this made us feel much safer. Also, we arranged to travel by overnight train down to Luxor and then back the following night on Ryan, from Australia ~ 6th Mar 2009
