The Chilli is truly the hostels of all hostels.A no-frills facility that has the bone dry basics – bed, air conditioner, sink and bathroom in each room.Despite the minimalist ambience, the Chilli is very clean and well maintained. This hostel is ideal for college students, low-budget travelers, or backpackers.Or if you are looking for a place to simply use as a crash pad at the end of the day (isn’t that what most tourists do anyways?), I recommend this place. The only disadvantage is that it Eleanore, from USA ~ 22nd May 2012

Very nice hostel. Staff will alway help you with any problem you have. If you're staying there - the best way of getting into the city is going (5 minutes) to the river and taking the boat - it's a nice trip and you don't have problems with traffic jam. Bartlomiej, from Poland ~ 9th May 2012

Bit overpriced and rubbish location but free internet was a plus Hugh, from England ~ 30th Mar 2012

The room was very very small, fitting nothing but two 90x210cm beds. So if you're very claustrophobic this is maybe not your place. The cover on the bed worked as your towel too, which was weird. All in all a very good place, since you probably won't be spending too much time in your room. Erkki, from Finland ~ 7th Feb 2012

Nothing annoys me more than ignorant reviews from ignorant people, Elin&Anne-Marie. Bangkok is humid, more humid than your "air-conditioned" room, opening a window would do nothing to alleviate the humidity. My room has an opening window, its closed. No mold, no humidity. No bars or restaurants? it's 10 minutes walk to River City bars and pier or MRT, and it's in Chinatown. Moron Cheapest, cleanest, private room in Bangkok. Great Location, Highly Recommend! Chilli is a really nice place with nice staff. The design is modern and pretty cool. The rooms a bit small, but the price is very attractive making it an excellent place to stay. Getting cabs is really easy so getting to big tourist spots is not a problem (the price was so good that taking cabs wasn't an issue, and the cabs to the tourist areas were cheap - around 50B). I recommend this place. Jason, from USA ~ 18th Jan 2012

There are no windows to open neather a draw-off in the room. The bathroom is a part of the normal room so that you have all the humidity of your shower in it room. The only way to "dry" the room is the aircon. - with the effect that there is a lot of mold in the air.. Absolute inacceptable to sleep there (potential healthrisk!). It's a pitty because the hostel itself has a nice atmosphere and citylocation. Elin, from Germany ~ 10th Jan 2012

Nice hostel in quiet area. Good connections to khaosan & rambuttri. Train and subway stations nearby. Recommended! Markus, from Finland ~ 3rd Dec 2011

So this place does not have breakfast, linen or indeed tv for the english speaking. The only place it is located 10 mins walk from is the railway station. There are no restaurants or bars nearby. I checked out after the first night. The boy at reception didn't speak English very well, but was pleasant enough. It's nice and new but the rooms are the size of a shoebox and the bed was like rock even for Asian standards. Ann-Marie, from New Zealand ~ 15th Aug 2011
