It was good, I mean when you goto a hostel, you aren't going to be there in the room all day so all I really needed was a place to shower and sleep. It was real hot in the room though, that much can be said. Other than that, I would come here again. Elias, from USA ~ 4th Aug 2009

A few points, firstly, the cut out news paper articles framed in the hallways looked cheap and stupid. Surely this doesnt categorise a hotel as chick? It was lame. The room i stayed in was tiny (236). Now i understand that this is NY but seriously, the beds were so closely positioned that there was not room to turn around between then without getting stuck! Thats right, my shoulders are wider than the gap between the bunks. The shower was outright dirty and the clearer didnt once run a cl Michael, from England ~ 14th Jan 2009

Funky hotel with cool art and helpful staff. Conveniently located on 27th and 5th Ave in the Gramercy part of Manhattan~ near Midtown and a couple blocks north of Madison Square Garden and Flatiron district. 2 blocks from the 4, 5 and 6 train. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Sarah, from USA ~ 29th Dec 2008

The room we stayed in was so freaking cold for the first few days, it was freaking 10 degrees in the morning!! And there wasn't any picture of the great Gershwin nor was his music playing in the lobby despite the hotel's name. Evangeline, from Singapore ~ 29th Dec 2008

Great place! If you prefer a more hotel "feel" for your hostel experience, this is the place. Fresh towels daily, a TV and private bathroom in each room. Also, it's centrally located -- on e 27th between 5th and Madison. However, the keycard problem really should be fixed -- your key gets deactivated several times a day forcing you to go down to the lobby (sometimes only in your knickers) to reactivate your key.
