The Monkeys In The Trees was an experience to say the least. The staff were very friendly and even stayed up till 2 am to check us in when our plane had been delayed. The hostel was hard to find at first and the directions given on their site were not correct. The bathrooms were always clean, and the pub downstairs where they served breakfast each morning was the best part of the hostel, very comfy and lots of places to read and catch up on emails. WOW, we are very surprised with your review, you didn’t seem to notice all of those bad things when you were here, you should have told us... Directions on the website are correct and most of the people find them very useful. All the pictures has been taken in the hostel and as you can see from it we do have both, metal and wooden beds.  I’m sorry if you didn’t feel comfortable in 10 bed room, perhaps in the future you could try 6 or even 4 bed room or maybe private room will be more suitable for you. Our tv room has six high chairs around big table, two seat sofa, two coffee tables and a few chairs around it. Just from counting chairs you can easily see that it can hold comfortably more than 5 people. There was a group of  4 people who’ve been here at the same time as you and they’ve been seating on the floor sometimes but not because of lack of space but simply because they like to do that, they’ve been doing it even when tv room was empty. Fire issues are on the top of our priority list and we do take it serious, we just had installed additional to the existing one early warning fire alarm and we provide luggage racks on the corridor and large luggage storage in the cellar so people can keep the bags nice and clear also in some rooms you can keep your bag under your bed. We provide free of charge lockers to store any valuables like laptop, passport etc. and we only ask for £5 deposit for the key. Every bathroom has 4 hooks on the back of the door so you can hang your clothes and towel. We are very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay with us as much as we would wish.

Although the location is further away from the sight seeingvit was an affordable, clean place to stay with an amazing staff. We truly enjoyed our time spent there and would reccommend it to anyone going to London! Natalie, from USA ~ 9th Feb 2012

Had a perfectly pleasant stay. It's a good, clean hostel. There's a lot of people who stay around for a length of time as opposed to just passing through - which is good for socialising. The pub downstairs is nice, though it's a shame it's not busier. And it's the best free breakfast I've had at a hostel. My only criticism is re. the uncomfortable mattresses (which others have mentioned)- you can feel every spring. I don't think I've ever slept in such bad beds - you could feel the springs even before you moved around in bed. Bedlights by the bed, so you don't have to wake up the entire room when coming back late. When thinking YHA/HI is more or less same price - value is really poor. Would never recommend this hostel. Really enjoyed my stay at this new hostel above a pub. It was very comfortable and super clean (they clean three times a day) and the staff was very helpful. Free wi-fi and cable TV was an added bonus and the free breakfast wasn't half bad either. the staffs are helpfull,there is very little bar for meeting.But its so far to central and first metro station is 2 km walk away.ım 190 cm tall if you are little you can sleep nice because they have little beds:)

Hi, thanks for your comment however the 'little bar' you've mention is a full size pub on a hostels ground floor (capacity 80 people). Our beds are standard size 200cm x 80cm and about location, we are located in second zone out of 6 in west london. Next time I would advise you to check the location (www.googlemaps.com) before you choose your next hostel cos location is the only thing that won't change... Good luck.
