A fabulous hostel in a great location, in beautiful Melbourne. It has an amazing atmosphere and is a fun place to stay. The staff are a fantastic bunch of people, very friendly and helpful. I can't fault them in any way! There isn't a bad thing to say about the place, if your looking for something different then your average hostel, then this is it. Charity, from England ~ 14th May 2012

During our stay seemed to be full of hyperactive 18 year olds. Very noisy and rude at times, maybe it's my age but still someone switching on a hifi full blast outside your dorm room at 4am doesn't make for a peaceful night. Great location though, with trams nearby and loads of restaurants and bars. Cool building, think we were unlucky with who was staying. Kitchen very small though so didn't bother using, ate out as so much choice.Bathrooms were a bit unclean not awful but the worst on my tr James, from England ~ 13th Apr 2012

One of the best hostels I've been to, The Nunnery just has a relaxing feel to it. Free breakfast, movie night and the pub crawl are all awesome ways to meet lots of people. The place just feels cozy and relaxing. People often bring their own music/shows as the TV in the main room supports USB sticks and various audio/video formats. A truly remarkable hostel. I do hate how the kitchen closes at 11pm though...too early when you need to get to your late night snack! Sumit, from USA ~ 28th Mar 2012

Really great hostel the staff are friendly and so helpful. They even took the initiative to upgrade me (no extra cost) to a 3 bed dorm instead of the 8 bed dorm since they weren't full. It's a really great laid-back atmostphere, they organize all kinds of events including BBQs on Friday nights. Clean facilities, in a nice location a little bit off Brunswick, so it's pretty quiet at the hostel, but easy to go out if you choose. Definitely recommended if you want to stay in the Fitzroy area. Very good hostel, with a lot of friendly people and a great atmosphere. Free pancakes sunday morning is THE BEST! Only downside: the kitchen i really tiny for so many people, so cook really early..or really late. Sanni, from Denmark ~ 16th Dec 2011

Not too shabby of a hostel with plenty of character. Nice lounge area, ok kitchen, and spacious dormitory rooms. I really liked the hostel and would say the only downfall would be that it seemed sort of quiet when I was there. Still, it's situated between all of the downtown area and all the hipster areas around Bourke street and the like. Overall, nice hostel. Nicholas, from USA ~ 22nd Jan 2012
