Really old, really cold, very unprepared hostel. Rooms are old and dirty and have cracks on the wall. We have to sleep in a really cold room with a window broken and when we asked for a heater they gave us a dirty blanket. It is far away from the tube stations. It does not have wi-fi and the staff is more helpful to the bar costumers than the guests. Some may say it is normal price in London but I really think it is overpriced. We spent there just 1 night. The room was really big and nice for price of 20 euros per person! In the morning we found out that there is no reception and we just left a key in the special box. The only thing one can consider as a drawback is that the closest tube station is from 3rd zone. But unlimited day-ticket is just about 70 pennies more expensive for 1-2-3-4 zones than for 1-2 zones. Unlike other comments I could read before going to this hostel, my impression is clearly positive. This hostel met all my expectations and even outstripped them. I had booked the deluxe double bedroom and it was very spacious, with much store room in wardrobes and a very large comfortable bed. We could also use an electric radiator put to our disposal, which was quite handy in those cold winter evenings. its location was very far away from city center and it was on a very bad place which is called Acton. dont expect to find a hostel it is a pub and there is some rooms at the upper floors of it. there is no security, no locked cupboards and nearly unlocked doors... male staff was very friendly but women staff was really very very bad. i dont recommend this hostel specially to women. never never go there again. cigdem derya, from Turkey ~ 29th Aug 2011

The vibe at the windmill is so good comfy! The staff is really helpfull, and I must say, I truely enjoyed my stay there and plan to return. Everything was really clean and the toilets/bath is really nice! And when me and my sister was going home, the owner was even nice enough to drive us to a trainstation, so we didn't have to change differant tubes with all of our luggage. rooms were kept clean as well as bathroom. no sign of bed bugs (still kept clothes and luggage in plastic bags) the pub is right downstairs. the area was a little sketchy and kind of far away from the center of London. really no complaints other than that. Stephen, from USA ~ 26th Jul 2011
