You can get your tickets from ticket-machines, you can find them in front of the Airport or at bus stops. Be sure to buy two tickets. Change as little money as possible at the airport- rate is better downtown.

After you step out from the airport, you will see the stop of the local, big blue REPTERBUSZ (Airport Bus) under number 200E or 200. (Terminal 1: just a little bit left of the exit of the terminal. Terminal 2: Just go outside of the building, the stop is almost in front of you a little bit to your right.) Take one of the buses until the last stop (Kőbánya-Kispest). Take Metro line 3 (the BLUE line!) from the Kobanya-Kispest station until FERENCIEK TERE.

After you come up from the metro on the escalator, choose a stairs to the left. When you reach the surface, you can see a catholic church, behind you a big white bridge (called Erzsébet Bridge). The big, busy street where you are is Kossuth Lajos street. Walk along Kossuth L. st for 100m/300feet until the first street on the right, which is Szep st. You will find GH at the end of Szep utca (street), on the right side. Doorbell is on the wall just left to the entrance. No. 10 is the doorbell. Come up on the stairs straight into the courtyard. Ginkgo's entrance is on the left side, where we will warmly welcome you.

Taxi. Yellow taxies are waiting in front of the airport building.

- only reliable by booking on telephone! (except in front of the airport)
- confirm the price before starting the ride
- doorbell 10; to the left in the courtyard

The rates are officially controlled by the government, so it has to be nearly the same in every car. The normal price for an ariport transfer is around 5000-7000 HUF maximum! Otherwise, Taxi service is only reliable in Budapest if you book by telephone. Be sure to confirm the price before starting your ride!

2. From Train Stations
from KELETI or DELI Station take the RED metro line (M2) to ASTORIA.
At Keleti:

- walk until the hostel (5 mins)
- doorbell 10; to the left in the courtyard

Just step out from the building and walk down the steps to the metro entrance. It is also available underground. Be sure you choose M2 (wich is straight ahead), the RED one, because M4 (green) is also available from Keleti.

For more detailed information about public transportation: you can find a nice information office: just go down the stairs heading to the metro entrance and turn right. If you are coming for several days, it is worth to buy 24h or 72h season-ticket.

After stepping out of the metro at Astoria, take the escalator. You will be in an underpass, not yet at street level. Walk straight until you can. From here there are two stairs on your left. Take the one which is more left- sign says Kossuth L. utca/st. Keep walking straight on Kossuth L. st. The second street on your left will be Szep st, just walk on the right side of street. You will find GH at the end. Doorbell is on the wall left from the entrance. Push No. 10 at the doorbell. Come up on the stairs straight into the courtyard. Ginkgo's entrance is on the left site.

At Deli:
- reach the M2 red metro entrance (instructions everywhere)
- take M2 red metro in the direction of ÖRS VEZÉR TERE, travel until ASTORIA
- walk until the hostel (5 mins) – same as written above
- doorbell 10; to the left in the courtyard

from NYUGATI Station take the blue metro line (M3) until FERENCIEK TERE.
- go underground to the M3 blue metro line
- take the metro in the direction of KŐBÁNYA-KISPEST, travel until FERENCIEK TERE

Come up from the metro on the left-hand side. To your left you will see a Catholic church and the busy Kossuth L. utca. Walk along Kossuth L. utca for 100m/300feet until the first street, which is Szep utca. You will find GH on the right side, at the end of Szep street. Doorbell is just on the wall left from the entrance. Push No. 10 at the doorbell. Come up on the stairs straight into the courtyard. Ginkgo's entrance is on the left site.

Warning! Always have a valid ticket, since it is controlled in Budapest very often, especially on the metro lines! Fine is 8000 – 16000 Huf/27 – 52 Euro.
Warning! Ask local people for ordering you a taxi- if you need one.

- or look for metro line M3 (blue) – direction of ÚJPEST KÖZPONT – to FERENCIEK TERE

- doorbell 10; to the left in the courtyard

Bus terminals are next to metro stations. Look for line M2 or M3 and see the Train Station section above for further details.

5. Arriving late night
- good night bus service
- check the lines on the site for fresh and reliable information! - http://www.bkk.hu/en/timetables/

Budapest has a fairly good night bus service, usually marked black on information tables. Instead of M2 metro line look for 907 or 973. Step out from Keleti Station on the surface, turn right, cross the street, turn left and walk until you find the bus stop.
You can check the black bus lines in the stop: the line sould cointain ASTORIA. Instead of M3 line 914 or 950. Both cases make it sure to choose the right direction to ASTORIA station- If you are there read instruction mentioned at section.

WARNING! Money changing rates at the train stations- especially at KELETI- are at least 20% worse for you than in the city center.

WARNING! For fresh information always check the public transportation site: www.bkk.hu.

WARNING! The prices which are mentioned above could be changing depending on the currency or the season.
