Global Central is situated right in the heart of town, one block from the Esplanade waterfront lagoon.

One of Cairns' classier hostels, Global Central resides in a converted cinema building and boasts stylish decor and modern, minimalist rooms. It's so central you might actually gain weight from the lack of exercise!

A gaping central atrium topped by a wide skylight fills the foyer interior with filtered light, which enhances the already refreshing berth of space. Most dorms are bunkless, opting for sturdy beds that are already made for you. Clean and snappy bathrooms are scattered around each floor and there's a funky central kitchen.

You will find a pool on the roof-top with amazing views of the city, great for sunbathing and has a BBQ for the true Aussie experience. Global Central is known for it's roof-top parties which carry on over to PJ Obriens for the traffic light party or dance on the bar with the Coyote Girls, loads of fun and prizes to be won.

The communal area is dominated by a TV room featuring FOX sports, pool tables or for a breath of fresh air, walk out onto the large timber balcony overlooking the Shield St pedestrian strip. Global Central is large enough to suit both party people and those just wanting to kick back and chill out.
Downstairs there is a tour-desk, beauty salon, chemist, global gossip cafe, sushi train, fashion stores and everything else the heart of town has to offer.
