The Living Roof Hostel is located in a 15th century beautiful madrilian house which was fully refurbished in 2005.

Our house is a 'corrala' a typical building in old Madrid, with apartments overhang a central patio.

The Hostel is located in the centre of town, in Malasaña square only a few minutes walk to the most well known museums in Spain, the prettiest squares of the city and in one of the most popular parties areas in the world.

10 bed dorm next to the kitchen can be a noisy spot but we slept through the chatter otherwise the hostel is very quiet. For part of our stay, we paid for a 10 bed dorm but were \"upgraded\" for free to a 6 bed dorm and had the room to ourselves. Breakfast was toast, jam, and cereal. Our last day in Madrid, one of us who had been battling a bad stomach bug felt like he was going to pass out. One of the hostel staff walked us to the hospital and stayed w/ us the whole time and translated. Alain, from USA ~ 7th Mar 2012

This is not a bad place to stay if you are only sleeping there, which I did. It has a good location within walking distance of all the major attractions. However it was not the cleanest of places, there were odd smells most of the time and some of the showers had no hot water and very little water pressure.
