Hostel Miturno en Mostar, Bosnia y herzegovina

Hi Fellow Travelers, my name is Armel, and I am the founder and the manager of Hostel Miturno in Mostar. Nice to meet you :)

If you ask me how I would describe our hostel in a few sentences, I would tell you that It is a cool place, right in the center of the Old town, staff is very nice and friendy because we like this job, if you can call it a job, we enjoy being exposed to different people, different cultures and perspectives as we belive that each person you meet can give you something new, a new perspective, a new idea, even make friends for life. It is like we are traveling our selves, all the time.

We don\'t see you as a tourist but more as a friend :) . This is our attitude towards this. We enjoy and have fun doing this and yes, sometimes we get tired, but after a good nights sleep, we are back :) .

We understand that you can sleep in a hotel if you want to, but you choose to sleep in a hostel. Why? to meet new people, to get to know locals and the local community and to get real feel of the place, rather just adding a stamp in your passport (even if that is cool, I have several passports stamped out my self :) .

We want our hostel to be a meeting point, a hub, a melting pot of different languages, cultures, races, colors and places. We want to give each of you a part of us and we will gladly take a part of you to stay with us.

Our HUB :) is located in the very center of the Old town. It is close to all the coolest bars and the main attractions. Alibaba Cave Club is 50 meters away, so you don\'t need to worry about crawling back to the hostel in the wee hours of the morning after a night our partying :)

Now to tell you a bit about the hostel it self and its history. The hostel is built in a 3 floor building that was a very famous club in Mostar, called Bel Ami . The club was packed with people for many years, and than the business slowly went down and we decided to change it up a bit, put in some walls and bathrooms and turn it into a hostel. The place still kept some of the original features, such as marble floors, black lights and a disco ball in the common room ( so it is just a few switches away from a PARTY MODE :) .

On the first floor we have the reception and Tours desk, waiting room, living room with PC and internet, a small \'kitchen\' (fridge, water heater, dishes), 1 bathroom and 2 rooms. On the 2. floor we have 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms.

The living room and all of the rooms are AIRCONDITIONED which, in Mostar is a really usefull feature.

In example, some days ago, one of our guests was astonished with the outside temperature of 43 °C. I told here that this is nothing, because Mostar in the summer can get to 50 °C. :) So we all have nice tan :)

But don\'t you worry, we have a nice big River flowing trough the City and we have a really cool City Pool with an open air Club so you can cool off as well after having a few refreshing drinks in the Pool Bar .

If you are interested in actually getting to know the place by staying more than 1 night, we can take you for some of our tours in the surrounding villages. Swimming in waterfalls, canoeing, climbing ancient castles, rafting, eating, drinking and making beautifull memories to last a lifetime.

And last but not the least, we organize a fantastic Pub Crawl in Mostar. I am not allowed to give any contact details, because of our contract with Hostelworld, but trust me, you will not remember a single moment from the Pub Crawl night :) .
