Masseria Pugliese en Ostuni, Italia

Masseria means a farm homestead, often a fortified one, in Puglia and Masseria Pugliese is an old farmhouse adapted as holiday accommodation. The building stands pretty much in the middle of nowhere a few hindered meters off the road between the coastal strip and Ostuni surrounded by an olive grove.

It's rather dry and dusty in the whole area, so the fact that the building is surrounded by a high, white-washed stone wall is a definite bonus. In fact, the whole building is white-washed and shady (there is also a small garden for the use of the guests), and there is a large courtyard providing secure parking (the gate is equipped with a remote control lock) for guests' cars. The walled space also means that it's safe and secure for even smaller children.

The whole place was fairly rustic in the Italian bare-stone-and-rickety-wooden-chairs way, but charming and comfortable nonetheless.

All in all, Masseria Pugliese was a rather fabulous place to spend an holiday.
