Please note that rates shown are per room, NOT per person. Max occupancy per room is 3. There is a 15% upcharge for a one night stay.
Sunhearth Trails B & B is located in a very rural area, and the 5.5 acre property faces Halter Creek, a wild trout stream. A rustic trail down to the creek leads you to much to explore. Some local history was made here by luthier Walter Martin who crafted stringed instruments, including the very famous Lorraine Lee dulcimer, a traditional Appalachian musical instrument.
The property is surrounded by a pleasant garden and natural landscape very much into the mood of hikers, intelectuals and musicians. A small playground for kids will be available next Spring (2009). A fenced area for dogs (yes, we welcome dogs), including agility equipment, will allow for entertainment, while secluded sitting areas offer nice views and peaceful enjoyment.
The main house consists of 2 large living rooms, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a big kitchen, sunroom, office and 3 fireplaces.
The original house was constructed in the 40's with additions made in the 70's. It has a German/European feel with a very strong personality, with 3 country style fireplaces. We have been renovating it since August 2007, when we purchased the property.
'Bleib und atme a'bißl' is carved on the fireplace mantle and, as we have confirmed with the original carver who now resides in Germany, is Bavarian German for 'Stay and breathe awhile', or ' Stay and breathe a bit' (direct translation). What it means in the broader sense is 'Remain our guest and relax'.
That is what we welcome you to do.
You enter throurgh a cozy room with fireplace, office and a restroom. You then step down to the large kitchen (which you are welcome to use for basic needs) with a cute sunroom, followed by a very large living room centered on a large fireplace. There is available a 42' LCD TV. Lots of space to relax and rest.
The second floor consists of 4 bedrooms, served by a pretty large bathroom (toilet room being separated, thus giving more privacy and availability).
Outside, there are squirrls, birds, tones of trees, a creek down the hill, all conglomerating into a nature site like heaven.
We currently have 3 bedrooms available for guests, two with shared bathroom and a room with two twin beds and private bathroom.
Accomodations are comfortable, simple, classic and cozy.
Camping and meals are possible.
We are pet friendly and we have pets on premises.
Laundry service and wireless internet are available.
Rooms have fans, AC and heating.
We look forward to seeing you!
