It is simple - don't go. No breakfast, only rude none-spekaing staff, no towels, no Internet, no help to find out how to get a tour to the jungle, a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms and the hostal is very old. So don't go. Even for one night.

As far as a hostel in the middle of the mazon goes! its awesome! people there all awesome really willing to help you! clean theres a bed! and now they are installing air conditioning so u get a good nights sleep!

I visited Manaus during their winter season but Manaus was very hot, as it is all the year round. In the hostel, the dorms are air conditioned but rest of the hostel(sitting room and dining room etc.) are very hot and humid, without even a ceiling fan.The staff consists of a boy and a girl who speak no English, and are more interested in amusing each other than looking after the guests, while the owner who lives on the top floor, is never available in case of any problem or need. Location of the hostel is O.K. with the public transport not too far. The saving grace of the hostel is its reasonably good breafast and bonhomie of the owner, if and when he makes himself available.

The air conditioning in the rooms was amazing. i was actually a little cold while in my room. awesome, esp since it is so damn hot there. It wasnt the most interesting of hostels, but it did the trick.
