The doors didn't have locks. The ambiance and location were cool, but safety and security were completely lacking. I've stayed at hostels all over the world, and this was by far the worst! There wasn't anyone on 'guard' throughout the night, and hostelworld.com didnt even let them know we were coming! What a disaster!

If this place had said they were a 'beach shack' and I even use that lightly then we would have not chosen to stay. the rooms themselves were shocking to say the least (and we are travelling around the world trying to be as cheap as possible so we have seen some cheap places) then to continue the next day and stay somewhere where it was R60 cheaper and felt like a 5* hotel, it was sad. If they had a better description of themselves on this site and Coast to Coast (the south african bible!!) then things would have been alot different. talking yourslef up is no a good idea when you are nothing as to what yiou think you are. finally. A run down building on the beach with horse stables as 'rooms'

Bit of a case of faded glory here but still an excellent place to kick back and relax for a few days beside the beach. The fire in the evenings is really cool and the Braai's are delicious too.

No locks on room doors, but that was no problem. Lovely place right on the beach, and there was even a little dog to play with in front of the fire at night!
