A bit lacking in atmosphere and more like college dorm accommodation than a hostel. Rooms were small and a bit lacking in air so tended to get hot and uncomfortable. Nice lounges and helpful, friendly staff. Location is 20 minutes walk from Vic Market and right near a tram line but still a bit of a trek to the nearest shops. Not bad as a quieter alternative to the party hostels of St Kilda and the like.

the swipe cards sometimes play up-i almost got locked out of the hostel after hours and couldn\'t get into our room.

the check in time is not flexible. It is not very convenient for early arrival.

Great staff. Friendly atmosphere. The bathrooms weren't thoroughly cleaned. All the sinks I used had very slow drains, and some had empty soap dispensers. The bathrooms needed more maintenance. The location is great, close to downtown and the University of Melbourne. The bedroom doors are very loud when closing; our neighbors kept us awake when they closed their doors. Also, we could hear an entire telephone conversation, which indicated that the sound insulation was inadequate. We don't know from where this conversation was coming, but it sounded like it was in our closet.

Professional .courteous ,clean close but far enough from the city center to get a grerat night sleep .Manager and staff courteous and helpfull Some guests thought I was to old to stay in a Youth hostel but that was not the image the staff projected one of the ebst places
