From the reviews we read before going to Meson de Tulum it seemed that a lot of people use this hostel as an overnight before catching a bus (the bus station is very close) or plane. We also used this hostel as an overnight stop but after arriving and seeing how nice the common area was and how friendly the staff and guestes were we would have liked to have stayed longer and given Meson de Tulum a chance to be more then a nights sleep.

A massive cockroach ran past my foot!! Really nice place with lovely staff but the air-con in rooms are rubbish.

Good for the prize: nice pool, two computers with internet, no noisy night bars nearby, strong breakfast, friendly staff. Only, more information about the room types should be provided. It should be known that the private rooms upstairs have no AC, and even no fan. But the bed in the room was correctly surrounded by mosquito net, and I also did not see bedbugs or any other insects in the bed.
