Location is up for interpretation. It's not in the city bustle, so if you want to be two steps away from restaurants and shops, this place is not a good choice. You have to take a taxi or bus and drive is quite long to get to the central area. In the same time, if you like nature around you, location is great. Walking in the parks etc, super for that. Beds are a bit on the hard side, but otherwise fine. Staff's English is inconsistent, some speak very well, others barely. Don't rent bikes from them - they have quite good mountain bikes, but the bike locks they give along with bikes are extremely poor. Ours got stolen (though we did our best to keep them safe: locked with two bikelocks around the metal post, in crowded street, daylight, for half an hour) and it's not the first time it has happen with their bikes. Trust me if i say, you don't need the hassle. Better rent from street bike-rentals because their bikes are with special design and not likely to get stolen because thief wouldn't be able to sell them later.

great find in hangzhou, even if it's a hike to get to. clean, seemingly new rooms. great common area w/bar, internet and plenty of couches to socialize. we rented bikes once to ride into town. easy access to buses too. very helpful and concerned staff (i had a headache one day, and they gave me this ointment to rub on my temples - i felt immediately better!)

This hostel was cosy and charming even if it's not pratical to find this place at the first time.

We stayed in a double room ensuite which was very clean and very nice. The staff was also helpful. The hostel is a few blocks away from the lake but we either walked or rode bicycles to the lake each day. We would definitely stay at this hostel again.

We had a great time staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were great, the rooms and the lounge area were comfy, fun places to hang out in, the dogs and cat were adorable, and the street the hostel is located on had some great, cheap places to eat. I would definitely recommend this hostel, and I'm planning on staying there again the next time I go to Hangzhou.
