A very good hostel. Quite small, so not a lot going on for those used to bigger hostels with KTV and a bar. The staff are friendly and very able.

A 300 year old tradition courtyard house with rooms opening out on to the courtyards. Excellent location near to gardens and museums. Difficult to find so it's a good idea to phone on arrival in Suzhou.

Had loads of character which was nice but did take us a while to find it as you can't get a taxi directly to the road so be prepared to wander around a bit or find a really good map. Other than that really nice!

We really weren't here long enough to pass any kind of great judgement. It was quiet and cold...so the hostel was a little empty...though I can't imagine it being a hopping "good time" place. The staff were very helpful, as the taxi dropped us off too far away. If you have a lot of luggage, be careful, as it is a hike. Or, take a bicyle taxi or small electric 3-wheel bike up the secondary street. The place was relatively clean-could have used a once over in the bathroom before we arrived. The bathtub wasn't drainging, even over night. It was a little drafty, but the heaters worked well. During the summer, the appeal would be greater. Still, all in all, in a good central location, just a tucked aways back.
