Good location, very clean, cosy and comfortable place n most of all amazingly wonderful and helpful hosts...Backpacker homestay is a must try for everyone visiting Shanghai for work or leisure! Its like a home away from home... Thanks a ton to Hostelworld and Backpacker Homestay!!

Xiao is awesome. She is super friendly, helpful with foreign travelers because she speaks Chinese, French and English! She also keeps the place very clean! One needs to take a short cab ride to get there from the Shanghai train station. The location is relatively at the city center but it is not as close to a current subway station as I would have preferred. However, it is within walking distance to Nanjing Lu if you are willing to walk a little bit.

BPHS was in fact much more a HOME than a hostel.It`s so cozy there. You get helped with any problem. Any place in Shanghai can be reached by bus or metro easily. I strongly reccommend that hostel!!!

It\'s more than like guest house. Everything is good. The room is clean and quiet. You may not wear the shoes in your room if you want. and they put flowers in the rooms. That smells good. I enjoyed staying.
