The staff are really friendly and you never know who you might meet. Its great sitting under the starry sky with the sounds of Cairo around you. If you prefer the quite life, then Dahab is not for you, there's always lots of noise and new people to meet.

It was very dirty and the bathrooms were disgusting. The rooms were cold and smelly.

Definately recommend this place for its great atmosphere and friendly staff. This is probably the best budget hostel in Cairo. One particularly helpful staff member, Farid, suggested and arranged an incredible camping trip out into the desert for us. Amazing experience!

It's not the same legendary Dahab hostel as it used to be several years ago. Staying here you must face a bit of hardcore (lacks of water, sheets and general cleanliness), but it's still one of the coolest places to stay in Cairo, and definitly among the cheapest ones.
