Convenient location and good atmosphere means you can stay in an have a good time or walk a little way up the street to see what the city offers. Highly recommended.

I had reserved a room for 5 nights, but had to cancel & went into the hostel to give 24hrs notice (stated by hostelworld)& was told i had to give 48hrs notice. I was extremely unhappy, but stayed one night as i was already paying for it. On checking in, the hostel refused to acknowledge the $14 i had already paid in \'reservation\' to hostelworld and demanded i pay $23 rather than $14 that was remaining. The dorm bed was quoted at $28 per night but i ended up paying $37!

i've been here 'cause we got a cooperation to a lab at UBC, so I've been working most of the day and just needed the hostel for sleeping and storing my luggage. and on 3rd floor it's pretty quiet at night and the bathroom was exceptionally clean fo a hostel. you can use a fridge (bringin ur own food saves a lot of money)and get pancakes and juice for free. i can recommend this hostel to almost anyone visiting Vancouver even with a less tight budget than i had.

Beer prices at the pub are not cheap and not for a backpacker's budget. We've stayed at hostels with no AC, but they've had clip-on fans for each bunk and this would be a good idea for your property as well (it was really REALLY hot during the day and at night during our stay)! We really liked the downstairs and common/kitchen area setup, and the place overall was nicely decorated and had a good atmosphere. We would come back, and we will recommend this to others.

this hostel is just like New York - a dirty grotty stinkin noisy shithole. The staff are friendly but more interested in partying than doing what they're employed to do.Stay at the HI hostel over the road is my advice. A lot cleaner for one and a hell of a lot more secure.
