Fine guesthouse. They did a lot of things right. My biggest complaints: 1) Shower sucked. Extremely low water pressure, not separated from rest of bathroom. 2) Staff annoyed me from the beginning. I think they get kickbacks from tuk tuk drivers. This explains why when I arrived and attempted to set up travel to an airlines sales office, they scheduled it for two hours later and included a trip out to Angkor to see the sunset. All they talked about was the sunset. When the tuk tuk arrived and I said I was only going to the airline sales office, they looked shocked. The next day, as I was walking out they asked me where I was going. Frankly, this is not their business, but I said the Angkor temples. Of course, they immediately try to set up transportation. I said no, there were tuk tuk drivers outside. This made them angry. I had to hear all this nonsense about how the tuk tuk driver is a nice guy with a family, don't I like him, etc. etc. etc. Trust me: You will get way more than enough harassment from the people in Siem Reap--you don't need harassment from hotel staff.

Golden Temple Villa has a good central location and pub street is just 5 mins walk away. The rooms are clean and cosy but the only thing that needs improvement is the service and staff. The staff tried to overcharge me but i printed the booking form and showed them the amount that i should pay. Good rooms, good value, good location, bad staff.

Very comfortable room and beds. Bathroom a little dingy. Staff friendly, but a bit too aggressive with questions, such as "Where are you going? What are you doing?" etc. They use it as a technique to sell other services. Street a bit dark and creepy at night. DESK CLERK ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE DOUBLE AT CHECKOUT. BE VERY CAREFUL THEY DO NOT OVERCHARGE.
