After staying in the USA for 2 months and before going back to Manila, Philippines, we decided on a 3 day extension in Incheon, Korea. Incheon Guest House is conveniently located at the back of the airport and having to carry luggage and bring them to the downtown area, the Incheon Guesthouse was heaven for us. This gave us the opportunity to doze off, freshen up, and have friendly hostel personnel to meet us after the long flight!
He gave us the necessary orientation to do our self tour. The English speaking tourist desk in the airport gave us tips to customize our trips based on our interest, budget, time frame, etc. Everything went on so smoothly! Thanks to the hostel personnel who gave us a compact travel from June 1 to 3! We have covered more than expected!
To backpackers, since Incheon Airport is an hour and a half drive from downtown Seoul, get a place at the hostel and get the free shuttle service from the hostel to the airport. Then get a bus to City Hall, costing only 7,000 won (about 5USD) and get a tour bus from City Hall that will bring you to different interesting sites, (9 am to 7pm, hop on hop off scheme) at the cost of 10,000 won (about 8USD) compared to the regular half day city tours which cost about $22 to $26! So if you intend to do it in a whole day, it would cost approximately $45 to $50.
From the Downtown Seoul Tour at the City Hall, you can somehow assess what places you might want to stay in for longer and from there you can plan your next day's itinerary. We spent a night at the downtown hotel at the Night Market area and chose the places we wanted to stay in for longer. We had an action packed 3 day stay in Seoul, Korea, made possible by our first hostel stop with reasonable expenses and additional shopping! It could have been different had we booked immediately at the expensive hotels!
Please email me if this info helped you in some way! Thanks!
