The biggest band in the world are on tour again, and what a tour it’s going to be. U2 will be visiting 31 cities worldwide this time around and they will be bringing with them an innovative new stage and means of viewing their live show. Their 360 degree stage will allow fans an all round view of the performance, meaning no matter where you are in the venue you are guaranteed a great view of the gig - that is providing you are lucky enough to have tickets to one of these U2 concerts. Its U2’s first tour since their Vertigo Tour in 05/06 and it follows the release of their 12th studio album ‘No Line on the Horizon’. The band will be playing new songs from their latest album but whatever the playlist is, expect to hear such classics as ‘One’, ‘With or Without You’ and ‘Where the Streets have no Name’. The tour kicks off its European leg in Barcelona’s Nou Camp Stadium on June 30th and covers 15 European cities in total, including a three night homecoming in Dublin. U2 Barcelona, Nou Camp, Spain – Tues June 30th & Thurs July 2nd

U2 360 Tour European Cities All eyes will be on Barcelona as U2 will be kicking off their first of many concerts in the famous Nou Camp Stadium. The stadium is home to FC Barcelona soccer team, but on these two nights fans will be coming from all over the world to catch the first glimpse of this highly-anticipated new tour. This Spanish city is a tourist haven all year round due to its good climate and stunning architecture. U2 Milan, San Siro, Italy – Tues July 7th & Weds July 8th

 

Next stop for the band on the 360 Tour is San Siro stadium in Milan. This is the home to soccer club AC Milan and is only around 6 km outside the city centre of Milan and is easily accessible by public transport. San Siro will be expecting about 80,000 fans through its gates on both of these dates on U2’s live tour, so make sure you have somewhere to stay organised as fans will flock to this amazing venue. Milan is a favourite European city break destination all year round with plenty to see and so.

U2 Paris, Stade de France, France – Sat July 11th & Sun July 12th

 

U2 360 Tour European Cities The national stadium of France is normally home to high profile rugby clashes and international soccer games, but this summer it will play host to the most anticipated tour of the year. U2 and their 360 Tour will spend the weekend here and bring their music to many loyal French fans. U2 Nice, Parc des Sports Charles, France – Weds July 15th

 

Later in the week the band will move down the French country-side to the coastal town of Nice for another gig. The 360 stage will be set-up in the Parc des Sports Charles for one night only. 50,000+ fans will descend upon the beautiful town of Nice for a taste of U2’s new album and high-tech stage. This tourist hub on the French Riviera is used to summer visitors but there will be a few more than normal on this summer’s night. So avoid disappointment and see below for places to stay in Nice.

U2 Berlin, Olympic Stadium, Germany – Sat July 18th

 

U2 360 Tour European CitiesThe Olympia Stadium was built for the 1936 Olympics and has even survived a world war. It is the home ground of football club Hertha BSC Berlin and has played host to World Cup games. However, on this Saturday night, four Dublin musicians will take centre stage of their innovative set. Fans of albums new and old are expected to come from all over Germany for this live music concert.

U2 Amsterdam, Amsterdam Arena, Netherlands – Mon July 20th & Tues July 21st

 

This arena is used to housing both football matches and music gigs regularly. Fans are expected to come from all over for these two nights as U2 bring their 360 stage to the popular European city. Amsterdam is a busy summer spot with tourists and backpackers worldwide, so it has a great variety of places to stay to choose from. U2 Dublin, Croke Park, Ireland – Fri July 24th, Sat July 25th & Mon July 27th

 

U2 360 Tour European CitiesIt’s the only city to get a three night stint of the 360 tour and it’s going to be a mid-tour home-coming for the band. As always there is a huge demand for tickets for a U2 Irish gig by fans both in Ireland as well as abroad. Croke Park is the headquarters for the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and it has undergone some major work over the past few years to make it a world class stadium. This venue is very close to the city centre with public transport access.

U2 Gothenburg, Ullevi Stadium, Sweden – Fri July 31st & Sat Aug 1st

 

U2 will embark on the biggest stadium in Scandinavia for two nights on their 360 Tour. This sporting venue will see thousands of U2 fans across both nights. The band are no strangers to this city as they have stopped off here for gigs on previous tours, two of which were in Ullevi Stadium with Popmart and Vertigo tours.

U2 Gelsenkirchen, Veltins Arena, Germany – Mon Aug 3rd

 

U2 360 Tour European Cities U2 take their 360 Tour back to Germany, this time for a visit to the Veltins Arena. The football stadium is home to the city football team Schalke 04 and also played host to the 2004 UEFA Champions League final. This city was once renowned for its coal mining and was heavily bombed during the war. Today, it is the home of Germany's largest solar power plant.

U2 Chorzow, Slaski Stadium, Poland – Thurs Aug 6th

 

This stadium plays host to football matches, speedway racing and many music festivals. U2 have played here before but this time around fans will be hotly anticipating the bands new 360 stage and performances of new material from their latest album, ‘No Line on the Horizon’. Chorzow is located in the middle of the largest urban center in Poland and this stadium is the largest of its kind in the country.

U2 Zagreb, Stadium Maksimir, Croatia - Sun Aug 9th & Mon Aug 10

 

U2 360 Tour European CitiesThis stadium, in the neighbourhood of Maksimir, is home to Croatia’s top football team Dinamo Zagreb. This will be U2’s first visit to Croatia so you can imagine that the demand for tickets will be high! These two nights of the 360 Tour are bound to be something special, especially for Croatian fans who have long awaited to see the band in their country.

U2 London, Wembley Stadium, England – Fri Aug 14th & Sat Aug 15th

 

Wembley Stadium has seen some amazing events throughout the years, and thanks to its recent renovations, it’s now better equipped than ever. The 360 Tour lands here for some weekend gigs to cater for its huge English fan base. Tickets for their two night stint in Wembley are bound to be in high demand as too is accommodation for travelling fans. We’ve got plenty of places to stay in London to add to your U2 experience!

U2 Glasgow, Hampden Park, Scotland – Tues Aug 18th

 

U2 360 Tour European CitiesU2 then head up north to Scotland to bring their sensational tour to the Glaswegians. Fans from all over Scotland are expected to descend upon Glasgow to catch a glimpse of the Irish four-piece. There’s plenty to do and see in the city so why not make a trip of it and get some sightseeing in as well as great music and entertainment!

U2 Sheffield, Don Valley Stadium, England – Thurs Aug 30th

 

This stadium is a popular event and exhibition venue in Sheffield. U2 have played the city on five other tours however this is their first time back since 1992s Zoo Tour. The fans will be delighted to have the band back and tickets are sure to be in high demand.

U2 Cardiff, Millennium Stadium, Wales – Sat Aug 22nd

 

U2 360 Tour European CitiesIt’s the last stop on the European leg of the tour and the band are sure to finish up with a bang before heading on to the US. The stadium is celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year with some great events, with U2 leading the summer celebrations. The venue is no stranger to huge crowds and events as it has hosted high profile sporting games and concerts throughout its ten years.

So, after all those great gigs you would expect the band would take a nice long break, but not U2. A couple of weeks later the band and their 360 Tour will be crossing the Atlantic to kick off the USA and Canada half of the tour, so watch this space for more to come on those dates and venues.
