I thought a hostel was for younger people, there was there a couple of older men, one was there most of the time and I guess he couldn't find his way back home!!!

The owners of the hostel were helpful and friendly and it was fine as a place to lay our head down for the night. The room itself was clean and tidy but the bathroom could have done with a clean. We were unsure as to who was staying at the hostel and which of the locals were using it as a place to kill time/ use internet.

I'd recommend the place to anyone traveling inexpensively. Good cooking/fridge facilities, fast and free internet (your computer or theirs), very nice people running the joint. About equidistant between the Anchorage international airport and downtown, and more or less walking distance (c. 3-4 km) to each. Off season, when there's no breakfast, they knock down the room price about 20%. They'll accept a US (maybe overseas also) credit/debit cards, but with a $2 per transaction service charge.

this hostel is full of wacky, helpful and worldy people. I liked this hostel better than the european ones I've stayed in. The location is within a block of a yarn store and good organic food, which was a plus. Also, Anchorage public transport is very easy to get to. The managing couple at the hostel went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.

The owners of the hostel are very nice and extremely helpful. They know the area well. They serve a nice breakfast to everyone. Bus service is right at the corner or you can access the Anchorage trail system right off Spenard and walk or bike into downtown Anchorage.

The 26th street hostel is really great. While I was in Anchorage, I floated between this one, Jason's, and Arctic. This one definately had the coolest atmosphere. I also met the most interesting "adventure-minded" people at this one. I also felt like my belongings were safe and secure. Whatever you do, don't stay a Jason's. It was a TERRIBLE experience... Jason's was host to a disproportionately uncomfortable amount of local people (including registered sex offenders). Jason's also doesn'

Please have a plenty un-broken dishes for travelers. If you want us take our shoes off, then provide us slippers because we don't want to our socks dirty walking over the dirty floors. Thanks, By the way, the breakfast was excellent.

This hostel is clean and comfortable. Singh and his wife (I regret that I never asked her name) were wonderful. Breakfast was much appreciated. I'll definitely stay here again.

he rooms were clean but the common area and also the bathroom were not. They have despite their web site statement lots of russian workers there. So there is not much of a typical hostel atmosphere. Its quite a ways out, but the busstop is just around the corner. In comparison to other hostels its quite expensive although breakfast is included.
