The cash-only policy is unfortunate, and the lack of receipts makes the institution seem dubious.Bathrooms also require some improvement in both general appeal and hot water access.Luggage storage was not particularly safe (no individual lockers at all, and the latch for the closet came off during my one night stay), and 5 euros for storage after check-out is high.The afternoon lockout for cleaning was frustrating, especially since my friends and I had only just arrived and were exhausted. It was dirty. There were no lockers, or locks on the bedroom doors. There was no breakfast or dinner included after all. The location is fantastic and beautiful. If you don't mind showering in a moldy shower, sleeping on stained bedding and drying off from a cold shower with a questionable towel and going to bed in a freezing room (stayed over the winter), go for it! A Venice Fish was AMAZING... I have stayed in hostels in America, Italy, Greece, and France. This by far is one of the best. The women's dorm is roomy, the sheets were clean and soft (which is RARE for a hostel). The location is prime for shopping with lots of places to eat near by. Venice suffered with a horrible storm the nites I was there, but the staff provided a wonderful family atmosphere. The updated common room is comfy on a rainy night. WARNING! Definitely not pleased with the experience! It was actually quite scandalous what happen staying there as a female on my own.. Miguel checked me in. I arrived back at midnight to stay in a room with 3 other girls, bunk beds arranged. At 3 in the morning the staff and others came back drunk and noisy. I was woken by Miguel, pulled and dragged out of bed. In his drunken state, he grabbed me inappropriately!! I yelled at him and went back to bed scared. I'm very concerned for other girls!! A beautiful surprise.. the BEST hostel in Venice!.. here you can find a quiet place in the middle of Venetian life. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the place is really comfortable and clean! ..just an essential equipment, but there is nothing lacking! Almost everything very great. Very friendly staff very relaxed atmosphere. Two major drawbacks, however: -No personal lockers & room door always open!! Can lock things in a general, common, suitcase-storage room for which you have to ask/wake up the staff when you need your bag. -Crazily noisy in the night!! One may get used to it after the first, surprising night. Overall still very very comfortable and cosy stay there - was a big pleasure overall! Thanks to the staff!
