The staff is very friendly and helpful. I met a lot of interesting people there. Vila Madelena is a perfect location whether you want to relax or party or enjoy nice music or like good food. This is probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Vivek, from USA ~ 20th Mar 2012

Great hostel, great location. Tons of wonderful bars and restaurants nearby. And if 2 blocks is too far to walk, there is a bar downstairs at reception! I thought it would be loud, but they are quiet at night and I slept very well. The staff were all nice and helpful. I would stay here again, for sure. Ana, from USA ~ 26th Nov 2011

This was actually the first time I ever stayed in a hostel so I didn't know at all what to expect, specially considering how cheap my stay was (I stayed in the 16 bed mixed dorm). I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it all went.. Staff is very helpful and friendly, breakfast was great, hostel also has a bar downstairs, so it makes it easier to mingle and meet people.. location is great as well! Staff are great: helpful and ready to party with the guests! Location is awesome, right in the middle of one of the best neighbourhoods. The hostel bar is packed Friday and Saturday nights with locals and guests, great for mingling. Rooms are a bit small, but clean bathrooms with hot showers and good-sized lockers. Highly recommended.
