it is preferred to note if the room is not at the same builing, and the tourist tax. QI, from China ~ 1st Jun 2012

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodations here! This place is clean, friendly, and our private room felt just like a hotel, except we weren't paying the high costs! They have a free breakfast and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. It is a little bit of a walk from all the main sites, but we would definitely consider staying here again the next time we are in Rome! Aaron, from USA ~ 26th May 2012

It is a nice smaller hostel, felt kind of relaxed and nice, there are internet posts, the beds in the dorms are comfortable, linen is clean, shared bathroom was inside the dorm room and had ventilation problems but was clean enough. There is free breakfast, with filter coffee and juice, cereal and toast, you can use the kitchen. The staff are south asian, generally nice but not very knowledgeable about Rome, beware of being misdirected. A fine quiet hostel and there is no age limit. Ariadna, from Canada ~ 1st May 2012

All hostels are not the same. Sure you get a bed, kitchen, shower and somewhere to store your stuff at any place. All those things being similar,I highly recomend this hostel becuase the staff was so awsome. They take thier time to explain the city, marking down the best spots on the map, they calm your nerves when you are hurried from being on the road. Evenings we would sit and tell wonderful travel stories over shared wine and food and it really made my trip to Rome memorable. Cynthia, from USA ~ 25th Apr 2012

Rooms are very cramped, as they are filled with beds. If you sleep on a lower bed, you are almost sleeping together with the persons next to you. You can hear when they flush the toilet in the adjacent rooms, which can be quite annoying. There is not that much to see near the hostel, but public transport is nearby, both Metroline A and several busstops. I used no 3 for Colloseum, and no 5 for Termini. Dawn, the English lady is very nice, and sometimes she cooks free dinner. Johnny, from Denmark ~ 14th Apr 2012

I stayed in the main building my first night and the Secret Garden the second night. Both were good, but the Secret Garden was absolutely adorable! Next time I'm in Rome, that will be my first pick for a place to stay! Leigh, from USA ~ 7th Apr 2012

We stayed in a double roum - Secret Garden. It is placed seperately a couple og blocks away from the Ciak Hostel. We had the room in the groudfloor, and had our own little private garden. Good location, close to prams (20 m) and a Metro stop (500 m), and within walking distance of Termini and Collosseum. Staff was nice, but sometimes a little too casual. :) The WiFi in Secret Garden was very unstable, and most of the time it didn't work, and it wasn't fixed by the staff. The hostel is quite small, when i was there (february)it was not full so there was no problem to use the kitchen i guess that fully booked it would be different. The common halls were bit hot but the rooms ok, dont know how confortable this place could be in summer.I stayed in a 6 beds female room with a small bathroom good enough, the lockers are very small no place for a regular backpack. But to be hnest its a good place for the price you are paying. Noelia, from Argentina ~ 25th Feb 2012
