The accommodation was perfect in pretty much every way. We feel that we chose to stay in the wrong area as we ended up partying on the north side of the city mostly. South Yarra is an up-market, classy area and we are 100% low-end budget student types haha. Loved the quite nights sleep though. Jarred, from Australia ~ 18th May 2013

You get what you pay for - cheap rates are certainly reflected in quality. Biggest concern was security. LOCK your bags if you're leaving them at reception as one of my bags was opened when I left them at reception during the day! Breakfast was nice. WIFI intermittent, kept cutting out. My private room was tiny, but comfortable bed. Staff wise -Apart from the Asian man who was lovely :) everyone else was not great. Upon checkout, the lady didn't even look at me while taking my keys. The Claremont Hotel, basically, is an hostel, but very different from other hostels you could ever seen. It's really comfortable and clean. Unfortunately they have only room (dormitory) with 6 people in each room and private room (but prices, in that case, rise up!). With the price of the room (bed) only breakfast is included. You have to provide by yourself for other meals. Problem I noticed is that during night, rooms could be very warm, especially when they are full (no air condition in room Antonello, from Italy ~ 26th Jan 2013

only allowed to cook your food at a certain time a very bossy strict cleaner in the kitchen who was also VERY patronising talking to me like im 13 when im a 26 year old women!, the front desk staff some where friendly and helpful others not so much.. no free wifi , you get a slip that says you get 50meg of data and once thats gone then no more internet , the rooms are tiny we had a 2 man room and was about 6ft by 5ft i felt like i was in a rabbit hutch i could touch each wall! , dont stay lucy, from England ~ 25th Nov 2012

I spent my first night at the Claremont in a double room which was clean and nice but the second night, I had to change into a bunk bed (just for myself and with the purpose to save some money instead of being in a double room just for myself) and I found that they had NO changed the sheets in the bottom bed where I was supposed to sleep. The sheets had hairs and some kind of make up in the pillow and etc. It is NOT really nice to find those things and basically, where you supposed tobe4moreNigh Alicia, from Spain ~ 6th Aug 2012
