The hostel location is at very convenient location just 2 mins from the main train station. The lady at the reception was very helpful and kind enough to show our rooms and point all the tourist locations on the map. It was hard to find. It took us about an hour to find the place, wandering around the area that Google Maps had pointed us to (it's located by the "Canal Grande", in a small corner which is hard to see if you're not looking at the street numbers [road names don't matter, the numbers seems universal for the city]). The street was just outside our window, so it was a bit noisy at night, but the room was safe and clean. We found it a bit expensive, but not compared to its location. The room is close to Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. At the beggining the owner was so helpful and nice. But the check-out time they got crazy. I left from the room 5 min. late. Perhaps give more clear directions on hostels.com stating that the hostel is next to Piazzale Roma and to follow the St. Chiara Hotel signs because Google maps gives poor directions to Santa Croce 555. Otherwise, it was a perfectly lovely stay. The staff was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. Definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed at and made my time in Venice more enjoyable. The hostel is near the train station which is convenient, and the staff is helpful. However, the rooms are not in the same building as the check-in counter and we had to walk about 5 minutes to get to the room, and opening 4 doors along the way. The room was big but the toilet (we booked an ensuite) was outside the room. It was nice that the hostel gave us a map of Venice, which would otherwise cost 2 euros, but it was outdated. We were dissatisfied that we were not able to stay in the main building (with the good location). I found it to be misleading that we booked a hostel with a good location and when we arrived, we were told to go to a different location (about a 30 minute walk). Joanne, from USA ~ 25th May 2012

Good price. Lots of walking from rental office (on a canal) to actual room (not on a canal). We wore the wheels off one of the suitcases getting to our room! No view, room had unusual sailboat theme. No screens on windows so I dealt with mosquito bites and flies visiting. No AC but fan was good to have. No table in the room to partner with the two chairs. We liked having refrigerator. Barking dogs everywhere - not good. Local food unremarkable. Jumped on someone's unsecured wi-fi and it worked. Marci, from USA ~ 25th May 2012
