I was fortunate to secure the first 2 night in Barcelona in this hostel and was very glad because the staff there particularly Cecilia were very helpful with hints suggestions about where to go and what to see and greet you with a kind smile at the end of a long day. When travelling alone3 that is so important and I relly appreciated it. Cecilia went out of her way to secure the rest of my accomodation in the city through their sister hostel Paraiso and once again, I was very impressed. Thanks Ivana, from Australia ~ 20th May 2012

Chaperoning group of Girl Scouts to Switzerland in 1987 I stayed at "boatel" in Amsterdam. This is first time in traveling since then to stay at hostel and I would recommend staying at Downtown Paraiso for helpful staff, cleanliness, closeness to LaRambla, and atmosphere conducive to visiting Barcelona and getting a good night sleep promoting courtesy to other travelers. I thought the location was perfect and the hostel was a good value for the money. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I stayed 2 days in dorm and 3 in a private room. The dorm was ok, but the private room was a bit cold. Nuraddin, from Azerbaijan ~ 14th Feb 2012

Hostel was very loud the first night- we asked to be moved and Silvia was happy to accommodate us to a quieter room. Location is excellent- just a few minutes from La Rambla and the Liceu metro station. Would stay here again. Paula, from USA ~ 3rd Feb 2012
