Alex and his staff are AWESOME.You are treated like family the minute you walk in.They go out of their way to accommodate you.The pub is just what you would hope a pub would be.Great food and great company.Our room was clean and comfortable.Loved the location.If you want to experience the "Redlight district", you need to stay here. We were a group of 20 people staying at Durty Nelly's, the beginning of May 2012. The booking and communication with the hostel prior to our stay was excellent, and Durty Nelly's really did their job in accomodating our needs. The bar is was a good place for us to end an evening out, in addtion to meeting up for breakfast in the morning. If your plan is to enjoy Amsterdam's night life this is a great place to stay (I can only speek for groups, not couples). If you want a quiet weekend, maybe Olga Marie, from Norway ~ 30th May 2012

I absolutely loved Durty Nellys. I have never experienced a friendlier staff. Ola was more than helpful with navigating the city and any other questions that we had. The breakfast was wonderful - I loved the hard boiled eggs. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were conveniently in the rooms. The hostel was very centrally located and although in the red light district, I never felt unsafe. I would definitely recommend Durty Nellys to anyone visiting Amsterdam. We stayed here for a stag weekend and would really recommend this place for similar groups. It's in a really central location, the bar has a great atmosphere (the drinks are also cheaper if you are a resident), and the staff are also good fun. Andrew, from England ~ 22nd Apr 2012

Clean room, friendly staff, central location, but this also makes it quite loud. Bathroom could have been cleaner, had a lot of mould. Stairs going up to room are horrible, not for people with vertigo and heavy luggage. Breakfast was also very good, however the food prices in the bar were too expensive, even with the discount, just go to the supermarket.
