Great location, right next to Chinatown. Great security, you need a keycard to get in and out. There's a key scanner at the main entrance, and again on your floor. Lockers are provided right next to the bed. We stayed in a 22 bed room and it was comfortable enough. No window so it did smell a little. Wifi signal was good. The washrooms were decent. The rooftop sitting area (where breakfast of toast and jam is served) is a good place to meet fellow travellers. The AC comes up between 7pm and 9am. Julie, from Canada ~ 7th Mar 2013

Beds and beddings are ok, you have to put them on when you arrive and check them out with you when you check out.Bathrooms are shared for both male and female, so that's not so good, also the floor is quite wet.Breakfast is toast and coffee/tea/milo.If you don't have high expectations, then Fernloft is ok. Good accommodation overall, but this hostel is in a bad area of KL with respect to crime. Crime in KL is a big issue, and because of the location of this hostel, it really needs 24/7 security. Michael, from Australia ~ 17th Jan 2013

Great value for money smack in the middle of KL. Clean, comfy bed and clean sheets, helpful staff, and breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the city...all around great! Would stay again and recommend to friends.Only downside is a weak wireless signal in the dorm room, but hey, that's easily overlooked and all ya have to do is go to the lounge downstairs. I have stayed at hostels all over Asia & Europe and I'm being honest here, Fern Loft KLHostel is the best hostel that I've ever stayed at. Starting with Greece, the mgr at the front desk, to all of the rooms & facilities, it was the best. I'm an American.I'm fussy. I like hostels for the interaction that you have with guests from all over the world. Fern Loft has a large covered roof-top garden/kitchen. The rooms were spotless.Bathrooms had plenty of hot water & toilet paper. 100% recommend JOHN, from USA ~ 26th Aug 2012
