Globetrotter International in Sydney, Australia

Pro: Great communication from friendly hostel staff with airport transfers, tour bookings and general info about Cairns. Hostel had fantastic pool, free WIFI, breakfast, and nice beds (not bunk bed)! Fellow guests were also very friendly, kept noise and partying to reasonable hours. CON: distance from the city was further than i anticipated (about 15 min walk) lack of aircon from 8am-8pm (but if you out out sightseeing it shouldn't matter anyway), and mosquitoes in room (bring repellent with u Xing, from Australia ~ 27th Feb 2012

Great Hostel, friendly staff and owners. Nice and clean. Not much to complain about really, although I think it did say foxtel in all rooms but it was just in the main living area. Theres daytona games in the lounge room too. Danielle, from Australia ~ 4th Oct 2011

I had a great stay at the Globetrotter. The staff is really helpfull and Brian recommanded great tours to me. The hostel is slightly out of the city center but it is only a nice 15-minute walk: everybody can do that. Plus it is quiet so you get to sleep well. But it lacks social gathering like game night or a BBQ sunday, etc. you don't meet other travellers well. yet I made good friends there. and I will book again if i go back to Cairns.
