It's the smallest hostel I've stayed in but very nice.PERFECTLY located in the center of the city on an easy bus route.FYI: directions to the hostel from the bus stop were poor.They truly only leave toast w/butter & jam for breakfast, but it's to entice you to visit the cafe nearby.We never got to try the cafe, but if it's run as efficiently as the hostel, I'm sure it was very nice.Thanks, Yahata! We had such a lovely stay at Yahata, the staff are super friendly and really helpful. It feels more like you are staying with family friends. We booked at last minute notice and were not disappointed. The staff are really dedicated and they welcome you into their hostel. We could have breaky there and rented bikes from them to trek around for a couple of days. Excellent, would stay again. Amanda, from Australia ~ 10th May 2012

Traditional Japanese house. Stylish and very clean. Staff were welcome. Feel like in homestay. Location is a bit far from the center. The map was not clear enough and the hostel was difficult to locate. No wifi but only PC was provided. No shower after 11pm was inconvenient for late comers. YUK YEE, from Hong Kong ~ 17th Apr 2012

The place was very nice, and the staff was absolutely excellent.If you don't speak Japanese, the staff there speaks pretty decent English, and are completely willing to help you out. If you need directions on how to get somewhere, they will key you in to cheap and easy ways to get to famous attractions.They were lacking a locker for storing your things, but you can keep your bags in their office area while you are out, so long as you come back before they attendants head out for the night. This is the place for travelers who want to try living in a standard japanese household: tatami on the floors, futon beds and traditional japanese showe.
