Be careful, hostel.com don't tell you that you have to pay more if you are not a member of H.I. and also, the prices are without taxes! So I was thinking it was cheap, but actually, I paid around 40 dollars a night. That's not that bad, but that's more than I was expected!Otherwise, the hostel is really good, clean, safe and friendly. :) Justine, from France ~ 11th May 2012

AMAZING!!! I was by myself, young NZ girl. I met lots of nice chicks from my room (went on a tour with 1 even. The staff are amazing VERY friendly, funny and willing to help out. Great hostel, very centrally located in Santa Monica. I definitely recommend it if you are trying to enjoy California on a budget, as I was.
