AN excellent hostel, very well organised, great facilities and a great position right near the beach - I stayed an extra night! The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner and there were ants in my room.

A fantastic location in Santa Monica, couldn't have asked for more! Felt really cosy, despite being on 4 floors. The 8-bed dorm was clean and comfortable and everyone was really friendly. Loads of amenities: Internet access a plus and big T.V. One of the nest HI I have stayed in in America :-)

all in all very very pleased! 2 blocks from the pier/beach. staff attentive and friendly ( a rare thing ive found),clean rooms,very comfy beds,big loockers,nice big clean bathrooms.a massive hostel with a nice outdoor courtyard and good amenities.

this place is like the hilton of the hostel world! best hostel ive ever stayed in! for breakfast you get cereal, bagels, tea coffee and fresh orange juice! we wanted to stay longer but it was fully booked!

The location was excellent. Close to public transportation, the beach and shopping. Everyone was pretty nice. The hostel was clean and comfortable. It was like staying in a really nice dormatory.

I stayed at the HI-LA (Santa Monica) Hostel over the 4th of July weekend. It was busy but very organized. There was free breakfast with real orange juice and cereal. Staff worked hard to keep the place clean. I had great roommates that talked and wanted to hang out some together. Desk staff was well prepared to answer questions about LA. It is more expensive than most hostels but probably worth it.
