Positive experience here, but this is the quietest, most sedate hostel I've ever been to.The average age of the travelers here on the weekend I stayed was probably about 65. Love the day room/public area.Well appointed. Margaret, from USA ~ 4th Jun 2012

The toilets, though I think designed to conserve water, would splash water on the floor in front of the toilets after every flush. As a result, all of the toilets had these gross little puddles of water in front of them. I also found the staff to be aloof. Quiet hours and lights out were not enforced. Great place to stay. Perfect location, just a few blocks from Aquarium and Cannery Row, was able to walk almost everywhere including downtown Monterey and Pacific Grove. Staff is very nice, gave us guest passes to the Aquarium so that we didn't have to pay admission and gave suggestions of other places to visit in the area.
