The hostel was surprisingly comfortable and nice, a really great value in a beautiful location.Reasonably quiet at night.Heat provided by radiator with a control valve on an intermittent timer.A bit confusing at first, but just open the valve, wait if the heat is not presently on, let the room warm up, then shut the valve to quiet radiator noise.Complimentary breakfast is a nice extra. Facility is old. Location is good to access cable car. Guest were so so. Staff were kind. There is free parking lot although it is little far from hostel. For cheap staying with your own car, I recommend this place. HYOWON, from South Korea ~ 29th Dec 2012

We've stayed here twice and we love the location as well as Cafe Franco! Great coffee and breakfast in the morning. It sucks they don't have private rooms like some hostels with a private bathroom. The bathrooms are all shared and are not the cleanist. Wish they just cleaned the place a little better to be more inviting and smell nice. But we have a great time when we stay in this location! The location is on a hill that is close to the touristic areas of the pier. So it wasn't good to get a true feel of the city. But it was a great place to be based for a short stay where the attractions are all that are important.
