Ideal location, sadly lack of basic facilities (a cat litter next to the toilet & shower and toilet in one place - eww). Even after a full day at Lao Shan we didn't fancy braving that :( Shame as owner was friendly and place was character (even with an entrance inside a cramped antique shop with narrow stairs for moving luggage, and the rooms have little head space to stand up for people over 174 cm). Height warning needed! Door not open 24:7 either. Ok for one night's stay if nothing else. Rebecca, from England ~ 5th Oct 2012

Nice owners and it had a unique, nautical theme to it, but I left early because the room was too cramped, there was no heating (except an electric blanket), there was no shower on site, and the toilet area was rather putrid and smelled awful.The place needs work. Will, from USA ~ 13th Mar 2012

Hostel was locked upon arrival. Steps were too cluttered to pull wheeled suitcase inside. Double room was owner's, bed used, not prepared, no door. Creepy. I went to the Chinese hotel next door instead. I would like a refund. Eileen, from Canada ~ 25th Jun 2010
