I really like this hostel, and the staff was excellent. when i was there, they helped me, about the transportation, the recomanded place in hangzhou.. & the environtment is great..i like it..btw thank a lot for FeiFei...Imelda

Nice quiet location very close to the Lake. Not so easy to find so take plenty of directions or find a good taxi driver!

This is the best hostel i have ever stayed in. The place is really great, the common areas, rooms and facilities are all well kept. The staff are amazing, they are so helpful and make you feel like family. Oh and the breakfast is the best i have ever had in China in six months. It is a little difficult to find though; not as centrally located (down the bottom end of the lake near the Pagoda) and the beds are a little hard. But I would have no reservations about staying there again.

We arrived one hour later than our estimate and the room was not ready when we got there. WE had to wait half an hour for them to make up the room.

The staff are great - helpful and friendly. My room was clean and reasonably laid out, if a little small. Location is just a couple minutes walk to the west lake. It can get a little noisy with a school in the back and hallway traffic, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep late.

There was an initial problem with the room type we reserved not being available. The staff did finally resolve the issue but it took arguing and a few hours. Fresh towels were not always provided and toilet paper seemed to be in short supply. We felt that the West Lake Hostel was very friendly, had a warm atmosphere, and was an excellent value in an excellent location.

We had a great time. The rooms were clean. The lobby warm and cosy. Breakfast was delicious and inexpensive. The staff was helpful and friendly, a real pleasure. I will come back everytime I'm going to Hangzhou!
