there is a club in the basement, and it was very loud until 5am! shower room and toilet are disgusting. reception didn't know how to smile to show their hospitality, however, breakfast is not too bad. the night I stayed, a guy knocked the next door and then ran into pounced a guy sleeping inside around 5 am. the bathroom was disgusting and nobody cleaned it during our stay, there were neither chairs nor a table in the bedroom and the atmosphere was awful, the breakfast was absolutely minimum - even juice or cereals would have cost extra, someone stole my hat in the breakfast room Tanja, from Germany ~ 2nd Oct 2012

This is a big hostel/hotel.I found it clean but the in-room lockers were easily compromised and not designed for a personal padlock so, you're at the mercy of your roomies.Breakfast was adequate and the free wi-fi worked well in the lobby/bar area.Overall it's fine but not special. This place is huge.The place was swarming with people which in not necessarily a bad thing but in Amsterdam, sort of.Lots of late night people screaming and slamming doors at 3-4am.The room was dingy but the blanket was at least thick enough.The hostel is on the outer cusp of the city which wasn't bad because it was close to the museums and decent restaurants but farther from the center. The breakfast sucked & beers $$$. They checked your key at the window for security but it very lax... Miles, from USA ~ 1st Sep 2012

A very nice place to stay! Diferent from all the rest in the Best way! Great bar and club... Basic buy quality rooms. All that you need to spend a wonderfull time in Amsterdam. Just try to get a room in the higher floors to avoid the club buzz... Joao, from Portugal ~ 29th Aug 2012

second time i've been there. location is absolutely perfect. the bike rent next door is perfect, too. nothing to complain about. only thing that hasn't changed over the last years: the reception. in this big hostel there is only one person at the reception who has to handle too many things at the same time. therefore, it's highly recommended to let two people work there at least. so guests don't have to wait so f ing long!
