The building is really impressive and gives the hostel an nice atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and the beds and sheets are new and spotless. There are lockers in the room (bring your own lock), which don't fit a large backpack, but regular bags and valuables. The location is also pretty good, just right next to the CBD and the Fitzroy area. If I'm in Melbourne, I'd definitely go there again! Marianne, from Germany ~ 20th Mar 2012

My husband and I certainly enjoyed our experience at Mansion.We are in the "over 50" group and still felt welcomed by staff and guests. We would go back again which is a good indication that it is a hostel worth trying. David, from Canada ~ 11th Apr 2012

The Mansion is located only a short stroll away from the Central Business District, and is close to trams and busses. The staff are helpful, there is a large, clean kitchen, and the bathrooms are everything a traveler could desire. The only downside is pricey internet - $4/hour, even with Wifi. This is such a lovely place to stay. It is walking distance to everything in the city. The people there are fantastic and friendly. The only draw back is the internet being a bit pricey at $4/hr but I found a lot of hostels are the same way.
