Our double room on the second floor was such a deal.My only complaint is the loud music and the place felt like a frat house but the vibe probably works great for the younger backpackers. Great staff and good breakfast. Oh also this is the only hostel I stayed at that doesn't provide purified water. Maryanne, from USA ~ 26th May 2012

Super fun there are fancier hostels in the city, quieter hostels, and of course hostels in different locations that you may or may not find better, but Hostel Amigo is probably the most fun. The staff is superb, the bar is great, there's a party every night. It's in the Centro, so if you want to go to clubs you'll have to taxi to and from La Condesa or Zona Rosa, but Hostel Amigo always has something fun planned. Jason, from USA ~ 13th Mar 2012

Stayed in four-bed dorm on second-floor found the room clean and quiet. Lots of showers and toilets, with staff constantly cleaning the bathrooms during the day. Not impressed by included breakfast or having to wash own dishes (I don't mind per se, but I don't want to eat off something an 18-y-o backpacker just "washed"), but lots of good restaurants nearby. Dislike leaving room keys at front desk. Organized tours are good and this location is more social than their Suites location. Would re Carly, from Canada ~ 14th Jan 2012

i am staying back at the hostel amigo upon my return to mexico city before going back home. the food is excellent.the staff is helpful and courteous.the entertainment is fun. if you have tolerance for noise you may reconsider,i dont know when the music stopped but i was able to sleep well at night. A fun place! Great, friendly staff who are very eager to make your stay fun. Breakfast was much more than cold cereal and toast. Staff holds paties, movie nights, excursions, etc. etc. all for your enjoyment.The place is so huge, you can even just keep to yourself away from all the noise if you wish. Throwing parties at hostel lobby might be a good attraction at some times. However, it could be bring much noise when party guys acting out of control and yell to each other! The suites were phenomenal! Beautifully decorated- possibly one of the nicest hostels where I've ever stayed. The dorm rooms however- not the best. In the same space room I had for a private room for the dorms they crammed in 10 bed. Roma, from USA ~ 15th Aug 2011
