Hostel Toruma in Budapest, Costa Rica

rip off!we chose this place for a bitof extra comfort for the 2 nights we had to spend in san jose and thought that it would be nice considering the higher price tag.the web description is totally misleading there are no tvs in private rooms(only the private rooms with an ensuite),the internet doesn't work in the room, there is only free coffee in the morning (not 24/7),it's $9 bucks to do laundry!,and there is ABSOLUTELY NO bar,resteraunt or bbq area!this place is definitely not worth the money ash, from Australia ~ 9th Jun 2011

This is the place to stay if you want to see and be part of a really unique place. Nothing but class and character describe this place. Great pool, tericota floors, central to everything, they picked me up from the airport at one in the morning and they were there waiting. The staff speaks english and there are several computers, several areas to relax and good food. I even stayed additional days. I wanted to pay in Colones, they gave me a rate 10 % worse than everywhere else. Showers not clean, no linnen, very poor. I can amagine there are better hostelsin San Jose ! Martijn, from Netherlands ~ 27th Dec 2011

The hostel is in a beautiful building with an awesome pool in front.The neighborhood isn't the best, but it is safe as long as you don't walk around at night (I think this is true for most of SJ).Our double was HUGE and had some really beautiful art work.There is a ton of common space both outside and upstairs and about 10 computers with free internet. The only downside was that the walls are very thin and the heavy metal coming from the front desk didn't create the most relaxing atmosphere. Martina, from USA ~ 23rd Jun 2011
