Upon our arrival, we had to send the hostel owner a text message to let her know we would be arriving. It wasn't until we had almost reached the hostel, that we were called by the owner. She told us in German that we had to stay in another hostel for the night, and that we had to go to another S Bahn station. Luckily I used to live in Berlin and therefore know the city and speak German, but someone else wouldn't have had an idea what was going on and where to go. This hostel is quite far from everything. To get to most interesting places you have to take first the tram and then the U-bahn. The staff was strange and unhelpful and usually not even there. A letter was sent to me to the hostel's address I got it only after I had asked for it, and found out they had already OPENED it, even if my name was clearly on the envelope... Located a little bit far out from central Berlin, but good transportation connections. Had a twin room to ourselves, which was much appreciated, although the bathrom was shared. Good self-catering facilities. Would have been nice if there were freely available maps as to the local transportation. A nice hostel in a nice location. Lots of samll restaurants around, close to a big park and public transportation. Close to the city center.I reccomend it for young people who aren't too demandig. This is a nice location, relatively close to Alexanderplatz, and even closer to the beautiful Frederichshain park. Not much fun in and of itself, but hey, you're in Berlin. And if you're looking for a launch pad for your adventures, this place is good Aleksandr, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2011

Very good location. Quiet place and the cleanest facilities. Very friendly people in charge meet you to hand over the keys and there is a chance you may not see them again, you are on your own. If you happen to catch them they have bikes for rent. Nicolas, from Argentina ~ 22nd Jun 2011
