It was a good place in general conveniently located in heart of downtown San Diego. I read the review that said it is pretty noisy so I made a request "the place as quiet as possible" when I made a reservation.However, the front person made me put the noisiest room just beside the main street for some reason.Also only one girl in the front was not really in a good mode. This is one of the very best values in the San Diego area when you want to stay in the middle of a great downtown. If you plan on sacking out early don't get a room on the street, this town was rock'n!!!! John M, from USA ~ 6th Jul 2012

San Diego is a great city and this hostel was a great location to explore it from. I was there during the kitchen renovations and I thought that situation was managed well. The travel advice I got for going north up the coast to Laguna Beach was quite limited and I found out later that there were faster and more efficient options.It may be best to either train your staff on those options, or advise them to provide web addresses to the traveler for their own research.
